The Windows Store is Being Renamed to Microsoft Store

The Windows Store on Windows 10 PCs is getting a new name. As spotted by users in the Release Preview Insider ring, Microsoft will soon give the online store a new name, specifically “Microsoft Store.” Besides the new name and a fresh icon for the Task Bar and Start menu, nothing’s changed about the actual store itself. Some believe Microsoft could integrate what already exists under the Microsoft Store name into the Windows 10 store which would be hardware and software from first and third-party partners. We have yet to see the change on our end, but both Windows Central and The Verge picked up the following images.

Microsoft has yet to formally announce this rebranding, but as the release date for the Fall Creators Update draws near, we expect to hear word from the company regarding the change.

We’ll update this post with any new information.
