Microsoft today opened pre-orders for its Xbox One X gaming console. After doing the same thing but for the special Project Scorpio edition a month ago, the company’s most powerful Xbox to date can be yours for the price of $499. The console starts shipping November 7th and comes with 1TB of storage.
The Xbox One X is special thanks to its ability to output 4K video games at 60 frames per second. This statistic alone makes it the most powerful gaming console to date. Additionally, the console packs 6 teraflops of graphics computing thanks to a specially-designed Scorpio-branded GPU clocked in at 1.72GHz. There’s as much as 12GB of GDDR5 RAM for gameplay and 326GB/s of memory bandwidth onboard as well. Liquid cooling, for the first time in a console, is used to simmer everything down under the hood. It’s all packed inside Microsoft’s smallest Xbox ever.
Finally, Microsoft is now also beginning to promote its own game collection specially designed to run on the Xbox One X. You can view the full list here. Some titles include Far Cry 5, L.A. Noire, Greedfall and Okami HD. I.
