Asus today introduced a new smartphone exclusive to Verizon. Called the ZenFone V, the device costs just $384 or $16/month for 24 months on the network and packs all the heat found in flagship devices from… last year.
For starters, there’s a 5.2-inch 1080p display surrounded by normal bezels, so you’re not getting any type of futuristic design here. A Snapdragon 820 powers the show paired with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and Android 7 Nougat. A 3,000mAh battery is sealed inside which is rechargeable via a USB-C port, and on the back sits a 23MP camera. Finally, a fingerprint sensor/home button is on the front.
Whether this phone is worth it really depends on what you’re looking for. If your budget is tight, this handset may be worth it since it nevertheless has flagship specifications for under $400. New phones coming out in 2017 costing $400 usually ship with things like Snapdragon 625 processors and 3GB of RAM, so obviously this could be a pretty great value. Unless you feel like expanding your budget by a few hundred dollars, you may wanna grab this one.
