Microsoft Will Roll Out the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update on October 17th

Microsoft has announced the date for when its upcoming Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 will begin rolling out. According to the company’s blog post, the update will begin hitting PCs on October 17th. Back in May, they detailed the fourth feature update for Windows 10 by introducing features like OneDrive Files On-Demand (OneDrive placeholders, in a nutshell), the Fluent Design System, a cloud-based clipboard, Windows Story Remix for creating videos, and more. At the time, Timeline and Pick Up Where You Left Off, two features for being more productive across devices, were also detailed and expected to land in the FCU but ultimately didn’t for lack of development behind them. Therefore, you’ll have to wait until a future feature update for the OS hits to get the features. But hey, at least you’re getting the People bar.

The company also notes that improvements to gaming, security, Windows Ink, and accessibility are all on their way as well. Windows Mixed Reality will also be shipping with the update to enable VR/AR experiences for headsets like the Dell Visor, Lenovo Explorer, and other variants from HP, Acer, and Asus. All in all, the FCU should be a pretty welcoming update for users of Windows 10.
