Last February, Instagram introduced a feature that allows users to upload multiple pictures and videos at once into a single album viewable via swipes left and right from within one’s feed. This was great and all, but only the classic square format was supported at the time. This has been the case since then, but starting today, Instagram is opening the feature up to landscape and portrait photos as well.

Unfortunately, it might not be what you think. Rather having the ability to upload both portrait and landscape shots in one album, you instead have to choose between either a square, portrait, or landscape orientation for your photos. This is pretty unfortunate since it doesn’t give you much flexibility, but at least you’re no longer restricted to just squares.
The feature is rolling out to all Instagram users now.
