Samsung’s Gear VR with Controller Will Go on Sale September 15th

Back at MWC 2017 this past February, Samsung announced the new Gear VR with Controller out of a collaboration with Oculus. It’s just a Gear VR but with a pairable controller, but we had no word on when it would become available for purchase or how much it would cost. Now, in the wake of Note 8 news, the company has confirmed the accessory’s launch date and price.

According to Samsung, the Gear VR with Controller will land on September 15th. It’ll retail for $129.99 which is just $30 more than a standard Gear VR. Pre-orders will begin as soon as tomorrow, August 24th. You’ll be able to find the VR viewer at Samsung.com, Amazon.com, Best Buy, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, and T-Mobile. The company notes it works with the new Galaxy Note 8, however it also works with devices stretching all the way back to the Galaxy S6 lineup.

You can learn more about the headset in Oculus’ blog post.
