Amazon Now Lets You Control Your Fire TV with Alexa

Amazon is now rolling out a software update to all of their Fire TVs that enables full-on control of the hardware through the company’s digital assistant, Alexa. This means you’ll be able to achieve Google Home-style control by using your Echo or Echo Dot by saying things like, “Alexa, play Bob’s Burgers in the living room” to cast content to your television.

Of course, this type of functionality has already been possible with the Alexa button on the remote that ships with Fire TVs, but now you’ll be able to use any other Alexa device you may own to do the same thing which is pretty nifty.

The new software should install on its own on your Fire TV.
