Apple Wants to Give Siri Her Own Assistant

Apple wants to give their voice assistant an assistant so she can be more up to date with current happenings and future occurrences. In other words, the company is looking to hire a Siri Event Maven that can update the voice assistant with new information surrounding such things as uncommon national holidays (think National Doughnut Day or May the 4th Be With You) so she can intelligently respond to users’ inquiries regarding the subjects. This opening will make using Siri more cohesive during daily use and could prove pretty useful over time.

If you’re looking to apply, you’ll wanna read the job description. Luckily, we’ve included the entire thing below. And yes, if you see a smiley face, that wasn’t due to us editing the description in any way. Apple literally put it there.

Do you bring “Wookie Cookies” to the office for “May The Forth Be With You”? Is your favorite holiday “∏ Day” or “Talk like a Pirate Day”? We’re looking for someone to help us keep Siri up to date on all the various events happening around the world.

The Event Maven will play an integral role in planning out Siri’s understanding of events for the year by partnering with Engineering and Design teams to provide strategic awareness of cultural happenings in the collective zeitgeist.

We need a team player who can collaborate with cross functional teams and work efficiently in fast paced environment and changing priorities. We also need someone who doesn’t mind having fun while staying up to date on pop culture.

•Stay current and find events that Siri doesn’t know about by scouring social media and the web.

•Work with Analytics team to understand current behavior and identify events we may have missed.

•Work with QA to define upfront events that Siri should know about.

•Work with Engineering and Design to lay out a plan to fill missing events and cultural happenings to ensure top use cases are covered.

•Be the technical escalation point for the domain and subject matter expert.

Obviously, Apple wants someone with experience and not someone who can just Google stuff and add it to Siri’s repertoire of facts. They need someone with knowledge of upcoming occurrences and the know-how surrounding present happenings. I can honestly say this isn’t me so I won’t be applying. But maybe that’s you. In that case, click here to apply.
