Nokia 6 to Land in the US for $229 Next Month

Earlier this year, HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 6, 5, and 3 smartphones that would eventually launch globally. But as is the case with announcements like this, United States availability tends to remain up in the air until it gets confirmed formally. While we knew the phones would eventually make it to the States, we weren’t aware of a specific timeframe. Now, we’re hearing that the Nokia 6 will launch as an Amazon exclusive next month for $229.

Via a press release, we now know the Nokia 6 will land in the US and be sold as an Amazon exclusive. In case you’re curious, the Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch 1080p HD display, a Snapdragon 430 processor, 3GB of RAM, near stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat, 32GB of storage, a 3,000mAh battery chargeable over microUSB, and 16MP/8MP front and rear cameras. Originally, the device launched in China and sold extremely well. Now, jealous Americans will get a chance to pick up the smartphone as well through one of the world’s biggest retailers.

As for carrier support, those on Verizon and Sprint are completely out of luck. However, T-Mobile support is available, alongside partial support for AT&T’s network. Matte black and silver will be the first colors the Nokia 6 will arrive in, while new blue and copper tones will also arrive in the future. For now, we don’t know when the Nokia 5 and 3 will make their way Stateside as well.

Oddly enough, you can already buy international models of the Nokia 6 in the US over on Amazon. You won’t be paying the low $229 price and availability remains slim, but if you’re in a rush, you can head over to Amazon now and spend roughly $300.
