Report: Samsung to Unveil Galaxy Note 8 in August

According to a new report out of Reuters, Samsung is expected to unveil its successor to the explosive Galaxy Note 7 in August. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the Galaxy Note 8 may receive an unveiling and launch well before Apple can even take the wraps off its upcoming lineup of smartphones which will include the bezel-free iPhone 8.

According to Reuters, Samsung will hold the event in New York City where they’ve held past events for Galaxy Note devices. The report says the Note 8 will sport a curved display similar to that of the 6.2-inch screen on the Galaxy S8+. It’ll also have dual rear cameras, a feature that was highly rumored to reach the Galaxy S8 but ultimately didn’t.

As of now, it’s unclear just what the Note 8 will feature spec wise, but recent rumors point to a 6.3-inch bezel-less display, a Snapdragon 83x processor, likely 4 or 6GB of RAM, possibly up to 128GB of storage, and a safer battery than last year’s Note 7 featured. We have yet to see any images of the device leak so we can’t exactly speak on terms of its overall design, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it resembled the S8 in some way.

Details remain slim in this report, but given August is just two months away, expect much more about the Note 8 to surface in the near future.
