Here’s the List of Macs Getting macOS High Sierra

Earlier today during the WWDC 2017 keynote, Apple took the wraps off the next generation of macOS called High Sierra. The OS upgrade includes obvious upgrades to the Mail and Photos apps alongside Siri, while the new Apple File System is being integrated for smoother operation throughout while Metal 2 enables greater capabilities like developing for VR and using third-party external graphics cards. Of course, many of you are probably wondering whether your Mac will get the free software upgrade when it’s released this far. Whelp, here’s the official list.

MacBook

  • All models released in 2009 and beyond

MacBook Air

  • All models released in 2010 and beyond

MacBook Pro

  • All models released in 2010 and beyond

iMac

  • All models released in 2009 and beyond

Mac Pro

Mac Mini

Essentially, any machine running macOS Sierra 10.12 can run macOS High Sierra 10.13. Apple isn’t dropping any devices this year (thankfully), but it’s unclear what next year may bring. Count your blessings at the end of the day.

macOS High Sierra is currently in beta and will be released come Fall 2017.
