Apple at WWDC 2017 previewed their upcoming replacement for the Mac Pro called the iMac Pro. And I promise you, it’s literally the coolest Mac you’ll ever see.
The iMac Pro comes in a special Space Gray finish complete with a Space Gray keyboard and mouse. It features improved specifications such as Intel Xeon processors up to 18 cores, up to 128GB of VRAM, four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, a 5K display, Radeon Vega graphics, up to 1TB of 3Gbps SSD storage, and even a 10Gbps Ethernet jack because God knows you’ll need it. Apple calls the iMac Pro the “most powerful Mac ever.”
But seriously, can’t we just admire that new Space Gray finish?
“We’re thrilled to give developers and customers a sneak peek at iMac Pro. This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time,” said John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. “We reengineered the whole system and designed an entirely new thermal architecture to pack extraordinary performance into the elegant, quiet iMac enclosure our customers love — iMac Pro is a huge step forward and there’s never been anything like it.”
Apple won’t be shipping the iMac Pro until December (not 1080 like we originally though), but it will start at just $4999.
