During today’s I/O 2017 keynote, Google detailed Android O and released the second developer preview of the future OS upgrade. The official public beta is also now available from android.com/beta.
In the latest preview, there are some new features. For instance, Notification Dots indicates when there’s a notification on your phone sent from one of your apps. You can then long press on its icon to access App Shortcuts and view all notifications from that app right at your fingertips. This sounds like it’ll be easier for larger-screened devices to access notifications without forcing you to use your phone with two hands.
There’s also additions to Autofill that works across your device, new, smarter copy and paste functions, and Vitals that help to increase battery life and speed efficiency. You can learn more about the developer preview here. System images should go live soon here.
