Samsung’s Chromebook Pro Has Been Delayed Until “Later This Spring”

Samsung announced the Chromebook Plus and Pro back in January and said they’d land this February and Spring, respectively. The Plus did manage to make it to market, but the more powerful Pro variant has yet to land. It was expected to begin shipping in April, but it’s now May and there’s still no sight of the device. According to a Samsung spokesperson via The Verge, the Chromebook Pro will be available “later this Spring.”

Now look, this delay may come for good reason. Most early reviews of the Chromebook Pro claim the software loaded onboard the hardware is still really buggy since Android apps on Chrome OS haven’t entirely left beta stages just yet. Therefore, Google may be just finalizing some bug checks and under-the-hood operations before everything goes public. But this is just a theory, as we literally have no confirmed idea as to why Samsung has delayed the Pro. This seems like the most favored and likely of causes, however, and is probably true. But until we learn more, you’re just gonna have to wait a little bit longer before you can buy this $499 Chromebook.
