Microsoft Will Eventually Replace Wunderlist with New To-Do App

Ever since Microsoft’s acquisition of Wunderlist back in 2015, the fate of the to-do app has been hanging in the balance. Today, this uncertainty has come to a final conclusion: the app is getting killed off. But it’s also being replaced with a new app Microsoft simply calls “To-Do.”

To-Do is currently available for Android, iOS, and Windows 10 which allows users to keep track of tasks they need to perform during their day. It’s strikingly similar to that of Wunderlist in which it offers a majority of the same features. The app even lets you transfer lists created in the latter to the former.

One distinct new feature is called “My Day” which will offer you a fresh list of tasks to execute each day. I’m assuming this is for those who keep adding to their list of stuff to do and never seem to get it done in a timely manner so this may prove useful if you fit this category.

To-Do also (obviously) integrates with Office 365 and Outlook, with more Microsoft integrations to be added in the future.

While apps are now available across platforms, it’s worth noting that Microsoft has stated they’re working on proper iPad and Android tablet apps so users aren’t stuck with a phone UI on a 9+-inch screen. And when that time comes, the next major change to To-Do will be the overtaking of Wunderlist which will be whisked away into the sunset.
