Lenovo may already have something going for them when it comes to the Moto G5 Plus, but it looks like they aren’t done in the budget category at least for the first half of 2017. According to VentureBeat, the company will soon introduce the budget-friendly Moto C series with the Moto C and C Plus. These smartphones are oriented towards those who may have not owned a smartphone before or may simply be bound to a tight budget.
The Moto C and C Plus will reportedly feature 5-inch displays, with the former having an 854×480 resolution and the latter bumping things up to 720p HD. Inside, the C series smartphones will have MediaTek chipsets, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage for the C and up to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage for the C Plus (both should have microSD card slots), and up to 4G connectivity. As for batteries, the standard C will have a 2350mAh cell while the C Plus will nearly double that with a 4000mAh cell. With a 720p screen and MediaTek chipset, you should be able to expect some pretty killer battery life from the C Plus, at least on paper.
In terms of cameras, there’s nothing special. The C will reportedly have a 5MP rear sensor and a potato 2MP selfie cam while the C Plus will have the same front sensor alongside an 8MP rear shooter. Black, white, gold and red are the reported colors of the new Moto C series while pricing and release timeframes aren’t yet known. We’ll obviously let you know when more information is available.
