Google Now Lets More Users Broadcast Live on Mobile with YouTube

Google has brought their mobile live video broadcasting feature to more users of the YouTube platform. The company today updated their support page to indicate that you no longer need to have over 10,000 subscribers to your channel but rather 1,000. You’ll also need to be verified, but this requirement has been around since this feature launched anyhow.

Requirements for YouTube Live

Confirm that your channel is verified and that you have no live stream restrictions in the last 90 days.

Note: For YouTube live on mobile, your channels must have over 1,000 subscribers.

To go live on YouTube, your device must either be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above or iOS 8.0 and above. The feature works like Facebook Live or Periscope where you’ll have a comment section below your video, the ability to switch from rear to front cameras spontaneously, see a live viewer count at the top, and be able to change your live stream’s title.
