Samsung’s pair of Gear S3 wearables launched last year, with the Classic remaining a basic smartwatch while the Frontier upped the ante with a sturdier build and LTE bands. For those who may have wanted the Classic but with cellular support, today is a good day. Samsung has announced plans to add LTE bands to the Gear S3 Classic, with carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon adding onto the news with confirmations that they’ll all carry the watch.
For reference, the Gear S3 Classic features a 1.3-inch circular Super AMOLED 360×360 display, a dual-core 1GHz processor, Tizen OS, 4GB of internal storage, 768MB of RAM, a 380mAh battery, IP68 certified water and dust resistance, NFC (yes, Samsung Pay is also coming), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The added LTE bands to the watch will likely drive the cost up a bit, however we don’t have exact pricing or availability details. We’ll obviously let you know when that information is available.
