Apple’s New iPad Pros May Be Delayed Until May-June

A new report from Digitimes indicates that Apple’s upcoming refresh of their iPad Pro lineup alongside the new near-bezel-less 10.5-inch model may be delayed until May or June. This would come after a March unveiling and create a 2-3 month wait for interested customers.

So why the big delay? Well, the answer doesn’t seem to be present, but a previous report indicated that the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro would be released “as early as March” while we’d have to wait until the second quarter of 2017 for the new 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models to launch. This new report seems to just be a confirmation of sorts to indicate this is true and provide a more precise timeline. If Apple does delay the launch of the new iPads, it would affect the performance of manufacturers such as TPK Holding, General Interface Solution, and Foxconn.

Nevertheless, at this point, it looks like we’ll have to wait until at least the end of Spring for the new iPads to land. This is pretty unfortunate as I’m sure lots of folks are already interested in that new 10.5-inch model, but I suppose Apple has their reasons, for better or for worse.
