Last month, photos emerged indicating that Samsung was gearing up to launch another special edition Galaxy S7 Edge featuring a glossy black design similar to Apple’s iPhone 7. Everything about the device was black, from the camera accents to the earpiece to the aluminum frame around the phone. However, nothing was confirmed at the time. But today, things have changed.
Via a press release today, Samsung has formally introduced the ‘Black Pearl’ Galaxy S7 Edge. It features the same design we saw in the leaked photos which Samsung says “radiates quality and luxury.”
Samsung says they wanted to design the Black Pearl S7 Edge to be “modern and striking” while also keeping a low profile thanks to the black coloring. Anyone who’s a fan of stealthy color options will probably fall head-over-heals for this handset, even though it’s just a phone.
The Black Pearl S7 Edge will be available starting December 9th (tomorrow) in select markets exclusively with 128GB of storage on board. There’s currently no word on whether the special variant will make it to the United States, but we’ll let you know if this time comes.
