Tomorrow is the day when Google will take the wraps off their upcoming Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, however that’s not stopping the leak train from doing what it does best: give the public information before it’s supposed to. So to honor this, many leaks have made their way to the internet over the past 12 hours which give us our clearest look yet at Google’s next handsets. Let’s dive in, shall we?
Canadian carrier Bell has leaked both the Pixel and Pixel XL in a couple of press renders via a published-too-soon order form (now appearing to be taken down) which show off the front of the devices alongside the yet-to-be-seen white color, Pixel Launcher, new circle icons, and redesigned navigation keys. There’s not much we haven’t already seen in leaked press shots of these devices, but nevertheless feel free to gander at them for a while.
Another carrier by the name of TELUS has also leaked a pair of Pixel/XL press renders, and while they are almost exactly identical to the ones leaked by Bell, they do have one differentiator about them: take a look at the Google search widget. What do you see? A voice search shortcut? You’re right. We have yet to see this in the actual leaked Pixel Launcher, so Google may be adding it in time for the Pixel and Pixel XL’s launch.
This last leak is probably the most significant of the three listed here as it gives the most details. An entire Pixel listing over on their website is currently live (click here to view) which shows off the specs of the devices, what the Pixel and Pixel XL look like from various angles, and even what comes in the boxes of the handsets. While it’s worth noting that some of the specs listed don’t exactly line up with the ones previously leaked, we do know that they make sense for phones coming out in this time and after multiple rumors and other leaks. We’ve included multiple screenshots below that show off Google Assistant in action, what the Pixel looks like in the hand naked and with a Live Case, and even the fact that the upcoming Google handsets could have a microSD card slot, something many Nexus users have wanted for quite some time now.
For extra convenience, here’s every spec Carphone Warehouse says will be included in the upcoming Pixel XL:
Right now, the exact specs of the Pixel aren’t currently known, but we’ll update this article if that information is obtained.
While we are still a day away from seeing the official unveiling of the Pixel and Pixel XL, by now we’ve pretty much got a crystal clear look at what both phones will include. If you have to, in fact, you could even miss tomorrow’s event and already know what’s inside these new handsets. So basically, I’m saying the information shared here is pretty spot on and you can feel safe putting a bet on any of it, because at this point, not much more can change about the phones regardless whether a leak comes out in 5 minutes and tries to prove it all wrong.
