Following the release of the first public build of iOS 10.1, Apple’s finalizing their beta rounds today by releasing macOS Sierra 10.12.1 to public beta testers everywhere for trying out on the Mac. This comes just one day after the build was released to developers and two days after the initial rollout of Sierra began.
Within beta one of macOS Sierra 10.12.1, simple bug fixes and security enhancements are present. And while it’s a bit odd to see no added features in this release, it, to some degree, makes sense since v10.12 was released just two days prior to this occurence. Of course, others may find some differences between 10.12.1 and 10.12 which are notable, so if you’re one of those others, feel free to hit us up at mbedded@icloud.com.
To install macOS Sierra 10.12.1 on your registered Mac, head over to the “Updates” tab in the App Store and check for updates. There, you’ll find the new build ready to install. Just click the “Update” next to the macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Beta 1 listing and restart your Mac. The process may take a little while as the update package weighs a good hefty amount, so be patient and don’t turn off your Mac manually if you don’t have to.
