Popular email application CloudMagic today received a fresh update which changes the service’s name and logo. Now referred to as Newton, the highly-favorable emailing client that allows users to create an account with their service to sync all their email addresses together for ease of access on multiple devices seems to have gotten a fresh start and looks to continue to grow with new features and a paid subscription requirement (more on that soon).
CloudMagic (the developers behind the app and not the app itself) says that their app has “graduated” to Newton. They believe their product is more sophisticated now, so they thought giving it an improved name would help in that image they’re trying to present.
CloudMagic is graduating to be a more mature product and identity – Newton.
Enough about that. Let’s get into what Newton brings to the table. CloudMagic has built in this list of additions for users to enjoy while also including an aesthetic change here and there, however nothing found within Newton will feel different to previous users of CloudMagic (the app). The same design and layout is present, while new features seem to be presented very seamlessly and should be easily adapted to by users.

- Sender Profile
- Connected Apps (previously Cards)
CloudMagic also says there’s more new stuff found throughout Newton, so keep your eyes peeled.
Overall, Newton is pretty much CloudMagic with a new look, name, and feel. Users of the popular email client will no doubt adapt directly to the changes in a very little amount of time, however I get this information from myself as I’m a regular user of the service.
Probably the biggest change within Newton is the new pricing. Surprisingly, CloudMagic has decided that a yearly subsection was the way to go to provide users with this email service rather having them pay for various apps and Sender Profiles (which, by the way, are still here). So for new users, CloudMagic will charge $49.99 per year, while a 14 day free trial will be provided for newbies to test out all the fresh features. After the trial expires, users will have the option to switch to the paid version of the app to gain access to all the new stuff, while you’ll also be able to use the app totally free forever however won’t have access to many of the cool new additions found in Newton. If you’re a previous member of CloudMagic and have purchased either the Mac app in the past or a Sender Profile, you’re in luck as the app will give you a year of free premium membership. This means that you won’t have to pay the $49.99 fee until next year. I got my free year of Newton when I updated the app from the Play Store and opened it back up.
If you’d like to get Newton and try it out for yourself, head over to the App Store and download it to your iPhone or iPad. Alternatively, if you’re on Android, jump to the Play Store and hit Install. Mac users can also get in on the action, as the Newton app is now free to download from the Mac App Store. And for Windows? Well, CloudMagic says they’re working on it, so stay tuned.
