When the first build of Android N was released last week, the public went nuts wondering what the final version of the new OS would be officially called. And that’s usually Google’s decision. They decided to call Android 4.4 KitKat. They decided to call Android 5.0 Lollipop. They decided to call Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, it looks like the company is taking a different root with Android 7.0/6.1.
Users of the popular survey app Google Opinion Rewards, where Google sends out simple surveys for people to fill out in exchange for Play Store credit, have recently seen a new survey asking them what “tasty food comes to mind that starts with the letter ‘N'”, then asking them to select their favorite “tasty treat” from a list which all start with “N”. This is Google’s new way of deciding what the next version of Android will be called apparently.
Strangely, “Nutella” isn’t present on the list of possible treats that begin with “N”, as that seems to be the front-runner all across social media. However, popular options such as “Nougat” and “Neapolitan ice cream” are present, so at least survey-ees will have something to vote for.
If you want a chance at voting for the next version of Android’s name, you can download the Google Opinion Rewards app from the Play Store and hope you’re lucky enough to receive the survey. I’ve had the app for about a week now and still haven’t even received my first survey, so I might not even get this one.
