The Motorola Moto E is by far one of the best budget smartphones on the market today. It has a powerful processor, a beautiful 4.5 inch screen, a 5MP camera, Android Lollipop, and a really nice feel in the hand. Of course, there are some drawbacks since it’s considered a budget handset, like the fact that the packaging isn’t all that fancy (at all), there’s no rear flash, and even though the camera is 5MP, it doesn’t take the best pictures , or, for that reason, the best video. Plus, the front camera is only VGA, so hopefully you don’t really take a lot of selfies.
But with all of that negativity aside, this is probably one of the best budget handsets ever created. Here are the specs for both the 3G and 4G models:
- 4.5″ qHD 540×960 245 ppi IPS display w/
Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3
- 3G:Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 200 processor with 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 302 with 400 MHz GPU | 4G: Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 410 processor with 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 306 with 400 MHz GPU
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB storage (with support for up to 32GB microSD card)
- 5 MP rear camera w/
Tap anywhere to capture
4X digital zoom
Slow motion video
Tap to focus
- VGA front camera
- Bluetooth 4.0
- 2390 mAh battery
- 4G LTE US GSM: 720p Video, 30 fps (MPEG4, H.264)
3G: 480p Video, 30 fps (MPEG4, H.264)
- 802.11 b/g/n WiFi
- Water resistance
So as you can see, it’s not exactly a power house, but it’s powerful enough to be called a “beast of a budget”.
And the price? Well, if you buy straight from Motorola, it’ll run you around $120 for a 3G model, while the 4G will cost you a like $30-$40 more. But, there’s a way to get that price down to just around $40.
If you’re like me, you’re always searching Amazon for amazing deals on electronics, and yesterday, I found one. And it’s good. You can get a Motorola Moto E for just $40 on Verizon’s 4g LTE network! It works as a prepaid phone, but for $40, you can’t beat it!
The price of the Moto E keeps going up and down. And right now at the time of writing this post (11:00AM EST), the price of the smartphone is just $34.49! We suggest following the price of the phone so you get the best deal. Wait until they only have like 2-3 left in stock, because that’s when the price is at it’s lowest.
This smartphone would make a great Christmas gift for your child who has begging you for a phone, as this one is a great starting place. But, if you already have a phone, you probably don’t need this unless you want a cheap backup incase something happens to your current one.
You can pick up an extremely cheap Moto E right here.
