You would never know about this unless you visited Apple’s website and looked up this product’s name, but apparently, Apple today released their first official battery case for the iPhone 6/s, and they call it the “iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case”, because it’s obviously “smart” since Apple made it.
The case goes for $99, which isn’t exactly cheap, but that’s normally how much battery cases for iPhone run you anyway, so at least Apple is on par with this one. The case comes in two colors: Charcoal and White. The Charcoal resembles the color found on other Apple accessories, such as the iPad’s silicone case, and the same goes for the White.
Getting into the specs of the case, there isn’t much to talk about. The case supports the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6, it’s outer layer is made of silicone, and the interior has a microfiber lining to keep your iPhone safe from stuffs, scratches, dust, and crumbs. Of course, Apple doesn’t tell us how big the battery is inside the case, but they do say that you’ll get “increased talk time up to 25 hours, Internet use up to 18 hours on LTE, and even longer audio and video playback” while your iPhone is charging via the case.
Charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously for increased talk time up to 25 hours, Internet use up to 18 hours on LTE, and even longer audio and video playback.* With the Smart Battery Case on, the intelligent battery status is displayed on the iPhone Lock screen and in Notification Center, so you know exactly how much charge you have left.
The battery case supports Lightning accessories, such as the Lightning to USB Cable (included with your iPhone) and works with the iPhone Lightning Dock (sold separately).
