Alleged ‘iPhone 6S Plus’ Packaging Leaks Online

A sketchy source by the name of cnBeta (Translated by Google Translate) has leaked a new photo online claiming that it’s the much-anticipated ‘iPhone 6S Plus’ packaging in gold. The packaging is unfolded, and from this angle, it appears to may be thinner packaging compared to previous iPhone boxes.

This could clearly be fake, due to the fact that Apple didn’t include a full-color profile of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on their retail boxes. Instead, they included more of an indentation on the top of the box showing off it’s design. But Apple could be switching back to their old ways, and if that’s true, this picture might be legit.

It appears to say ‘iPhone 6S Plus’ in the usual form these iPhones are presented: the name of the iPhone with an “S” in a rounded corner square. On the bottom there appears to be a golden Apple logo. On the top is the ‘iPhone 6S Plus’ with a gold and black wallpaper which hasn’t appeared in any of the iOS 9 betas yet.

MacRumors has reported that “cnBeta says the iPhone 6s’ battery capacity will be down to 1715 mAh from the iPhone 6’s 1800 mAh, while the iPhone 6s Plus will be down to 2750 mAh from the iPhone 6 Plus’ 2910 mAh. Macotakara says they’ve also heard the battery capacity for both models will be lower, lining up with earlier rumors that the battery capacity in the phones would be smaller. If true, it likely indicates Apple has increased the battery efficiency of both “S” phone models in order to make up for the smaller battery capacity.

It’s pretty hard to tell whether this picture is for real or not, considering it’s appearance and attention to detail.
